I was first introduced to Michael Brayson through a mutual colleague when I was about to open my second office in 2008. As Michael was just starting up his business I felt I would give him the contract to decorate the property both internally and externally. That way I could judge for myself to see if I could refer him to my clients should they request a recommendation for a painter and decorator. The work was carried out within the timescales set, to the very best of standards and most surprisingly Michael tidied up after himself each night after he finished.
Following on from this initial work, Michael has painted the exterior of my own home in Cleadon plus some rental properties that are managed on behalf of clients. When tenants vacate rental properties, re-decorating is sometimes required. Michael prepares a full estimate for the work to be carried out and when the work is booked in Michael actually arrives at the appointed time and on the date booked. This aspect is most surprising as with previous decorators the work has had to be delayed owing to over-runs on previous jobs.

I initially contacted Michael and asked for some advice, which he was only to happy to give. When I did decide to go ahead with the project I rang & asked Michael if he would do it but that I would prefer not to close the salon for business & therefore could it be done at nights when the salon was closed. Mick was very understanding of the situation & agreed to do it when closed, which I thought was very professional as well as extremely helpful to the company. Mick completed the job, on schedule & to the highest standard. I have since used him to paint my own home, recommended him to my business partner who has used him to repaint the exterior of his house & he is shortly to redecorate our Morpeth salon. Michael was recommended to me about 2 years ago by a friend when I mentioned I was thinking about getting some decorating done to my home in Low Fell. I called him to ask his advice on one or two matters which were concerning me & he was extremely helpful with this. I then asked him to have a look at several rooms in my house and give me a quotation. He arrived at the specified time and again his advice about what needed to be done was very thorough & professional. He then emailed me the next day with an exact quote, including materials, which was done to the penny. I was happy with the price so rang him & asked him to go ahead. The job included the painting of ceilings, walls & woodwork to two rooms aswell as paperhanging very expensive wallcoverings to large feature walls. I have used Michael on several occasions for decorating & painting work on a number of letting properties in Sandyford & Jesmond in Newcastle. I recently asked him to completely redecorate my own home, which involved a lot of preparation and complete repainting of all ceilings, walls & woodwork in a large, Victorian, 3 bedroom upper flat. Firstly the price was excellent, but more importantly, on request, Mick arranged his dairy so that the work could be completed whilst I was on holiday, happy days! On returning from holiday the work was completed to a very high standard & the flat left in a clean & tidy condition. When I decided to have a rental property of mine fully refurbished I contacted Michael for a quote, which I received quickly. It was very competitive for the amount of work & time scales involved. On notifying Michael I was happy with the quote & requesting him to go ahead he went straight to his diary & gave me an available start date immediately. I arranged to meet him on an earlier date to provide him with keys for the property. Sure enough Michael arrived at the time & date agreed, however the property was not quite fully ready for him to start as other trades had slightly fallen behind schedule. Michael was very flexible & helpful with this situation and done what he could on that particular day & then juggled days to suit the job thereafter. I found this approach extremely helpful as this was the only way the job could be completed on time. Michael's professionalism, attitude & flexibility was very much appreciated.
